Pizza

Tonight we had homemade pizza with salad for dinner. The pizza dough was from Trader Joe's, a market which I hate, and they did not have the normal variety, and we were forced to buy they garlic herb kind. The salad, which I made, was a bit on the olive oil side. The dinner got a 8/10 rating.

Carnitias

Tonight we had carnitas from a left over crown roast pork for dinner. We made them in to burritos. First I made a burrito by simply getting a tortilla, and then putting the meat, beans and cheese into it. Those were pretty good, but then I made the burrito, and stuck it in the oven, and that was even better. The dinner got a 8/10 rating.

Leftovers

Tonight we had leftovers for dinner. They were better tonight then the were when we first ate them. We had roasted turkey, salad, mashed potatoes, brusssle sprouts with bacon, and stuffing. It got a 8/10 rating.

Pizza

Tonight we had pizza and salad for dinner.The pizza was very good, but the salad was nohing special. It got a 8/10 rating.

Chicken Piccata

Tonight we had chicken piccata, mashed potatoes, and string beans for dinner. I thought that the chicken was a bit on the citrus side, but besides that it was okay. It got a 7.9/10 rating.

Hamburgers

Tonight we had cheeseburgers with french fries for dinner. My burger was a bit over cooked, and the ketchup smelled very vinegary. The french fries were okay, but we had some sweet potatoes fries that were appalling. The dinner got a 6.4/10 rating, other wide known as a "D".

Japanese

Tonight we had Japanese food for dinner. To start things off we had miso soup with udon noodles. Then we had pan fried tofu, sushi rice, enamame, and mochi. The dinner was very good and got a 8/10 rating.

Leftover Party

Tonight was the leftover party. We had turkey, honey baked ham, stuffing, pies and cakes, potatoes, and many other things. The dinner got a 7/10 rating.

Thanksgiving Special

Tonight was Thanksgiving. We had a lot of things. Our main course was turkey, capon, stuffing, brussel sprouts with bacon, yams, roasted potatoes, homemade bread. The turkey was a little dry, but the capon was very well cooked. The stuffing was nice, and the brussel sprouts with bacon were my favorite. I hate yams, and the only reason they were on my plate was that I could take a video with everything we had, (I forgot cranberry sauce). The roasted potatoes were okay, but they were a little bit dry like the turkey.
For dessert we had cranberry cake, persimmon pudding, and pumpkin pie. It was all very good, but I did no enjoy it that much because I was so full. Also, my grandma over whipped the whipped cream, and I did not like that.
Overall, the meal got a 9.5/10 rating, a record high.
We had a lot of leftovers, and you may wonder what we do with them. Well, the Saturday after thanksgiving for as long as I have been around (14 years) and beyond that, our family has had something called a leftover party where all of our friends come over and bring their leftovers. It end up turning to a bunch of kids playing dodge ball or hid and go seek in the dark until one of them gets hurt.

Lasagna

Tonight we had lasagna and salad for dinner, made by our friend Catriona. The lasagna was very good, but I was not that crazy about the salad. The dinner gt a 7.89/10 rating.

Lahmacun

Tonight for dinner we had lahmacun and mixed green salad with pomegranate. The were very good, and the salad was also very good. I have a video for this post, but since my brothers have my camera with the video on it, I will have to post it tomorrow. The meal got a 7/10 rating.
Lahmacuns are middle eastern pizzas made up of round thin dough topped with minced meat; in our case in was lamb. You can read about lahmacuns HERE.

Burritos de la carne picada

Tonight we had Burritos de la carne picada for dinner, or as some people call it burritos with ground beef. The meal was mejor adentro a lo largo del tiempo, the best in along time. The meat was cooked to perfección, and the tortillas were muy bueno. The meal got a 9/10 rating.

Ravioli Soup

Tonight we had Ravioli Soup for dinner. I hate soup, and think it is one of the worst foods in the world, and at first I was thinking it would be horrible, but I was quite surprised at how good it was. My complaint was that there was garbanzo beans in it, and I hate the texture of garbanzo beans (they are very dry.) Other then that, the dinner was very good, and it got a 7/10 rating.

Pasta con salsa rossa

Tonight we had Pasta con salsa rossa, or otherwise known as pasta with red sauce. I thought that the sauce was a bit rich, and therefore resulted in a low rating of 6/10.

Dinner10

Tonight we had hamburgers, with Parmesan, garlic, and Cajun fries. The fries were from a recipe in sunset magazine, you can read about them HERE. The hamburgers were very good, but they were a little bit charred. The dinner got a 8/10.

Pasta and Sauage

Tonight we had pasta with sausage and kale. The pasta was really hood, and the sausage was great. My only complaint was that the pasta was a weird color, resulting in a 8/10 rating

Beth's House

Tonight we went over to our friend Beth's house for diner. We had fried chicken, macaroni, Caesar Salad, and corn bread. For dessert we had cookies. The best part of the dinner was the chicken. The dinner got a 7.8/10

Pizza

Tonight we had homemade pizza with olive bread for dinner. The pizza was amazing, and with the combo of the olive bread, it got a 7.89/10 rating.

Chicken

Tonight we had BBQ chicken. The chicken was very good. Also, we had "french fries", they were really potatoes in the oven. They were okay. The rating for the dinner was 7/10.

Baked Potatoes

Tonight we had baked potatoes for dinner. The food was good, but because of the weather (very hot) the idea of baked potatoes did not appeal to me. We also had salad, which was better than the bake potatoes. I also found out about The World Potato Congress. You can read about them HERE The dinner got a 6.5/10 rating.

Out To Eat

Tonight we wen out with some friends to dinner at a place called Il Fornaio. You can read about them HERE. The food was very good, but the room we where seated at was very hot. The weather here in Santa Monica has been very hot today, reaching highs at the beach in the 80's. I had a penne with vodka sauce, and it was very good. The overall rating was 7/10.

Hamburger and Fries

Tonight we had hamburgers and french fries for dinner. The hamburgers we served with a sauce that I made. The recipe can be found HERE. The hamburgers where very good, and Ted cooked them much better than last time. The french fries where a touch overdone, but other than that they where great. The last two nights, the dinner has gotten a rating of seven or higher. The rating for tonight's dinner was 7.5/10.

Chicken and Potatoes

September 28th 2008

Tonight we had roasted chicken, potatoes, and cheese sticks for dinner. The chicken was pretty good, my one complaint was that some of the pieces where a little bit rubbery. The potatoes where very good, a I have no complaints about them. The cheese sticks where better than I thought they would be, and their texture was great. The salad did not have enough dressing on it, but other than that it was very tasty. The dinner got a 7/10 rating.
